A saturation of images. Too many images of shopping carts. Abandoned, brightly colored, deteriorated, empty, fatalistically grouped, halved, in lines, (lost it at I), metallic, upside down, plastic..... Yes, they are beautiful. Yes, they are stands ins for consumerism, if not over-consumerism, as well as, fill in your own personal angst. A ban on images of The American Shopping Cart is in order. Its too easy. Students in Henry Horenstein's Photo 1 stay away. Resist. Find your scavenger hunt images elsewhere.
Of course, if everybody is doing it, I would like to know why. Studying the masses is interesting too.
FULL DISCLOSURE:
I've played Henry Horenstein's slide scavenger hunt.
